In the installation VARIABLE two components of daily life are reflected. In its relation to the exhibition space and its working conditions, it develops site-specificity.
At the end of the year Astrid Sodomka takes inventory. Specific connection on temporal level is established. Astrid Sodomka discovers organizing and clearing as artistical strategies. Engaging with „things“ is a way of acquiring space.
On the other hand VARIABLE is about the alternative use of everyday objects. What if -    ?
In VARIABLE Astrid Sodomka refers to the concept of proportion and the method of metamorphosis: a form / a body is inscribed into another form, another body. An object that is transferred to another, its appearance is changed, but not its volume. „Variable“ is the collaboration with artist, curator and collective.
