Archiving Capistrangasse



Between February 2013 and February 2014 all objects in Capistrangasse 5/49 are copied.
The flat in the Capistrangasse has been in the hands of the family for 30 years. Signs in the hallway are a daily reminder of the flat‘s history as a psychoanalytical practice. Literatures in the living room: A World Perspective; Psychopathology of Every Day Life, The Book of Dreams, Psychoanalysis and Contemporary Thought 1988 und 89, Magazine for Psychoanalytical Theory and Practice XIV and XV, 1999 and 2000, Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association 1985 and 86, 1984, Psychoanalytic Education, ...
In the years following the flat was inhabited by aunt and uncle. Turrrini, Goldoni, Büchner, Bernhard, Shakespeare, Introduction Into Literary Science in German being left behind.
Consequently it was a shared flat. Different people left their marks and traces.

The space is the antithesis to the white cube. It‘s never empty. What is the narrative of 30 years of post-modern life?
